Touring, Camping & 4wd

Here at Mudduck's Touring Australia we're all about traveling this great land of ours, taking a look at the locations and sights of the great big land. We also like to show off campsites, businesses, products and all things camping and 4wd related. Our YouTube channel is where you will find all this stuff. How we got started!

I ( Steve ) started playing with 4wd's back in November 1992, I bought a second hand BJ42 Landcruiser and pretty well flogged it every weekend. I learned a lot in that era from breaking stuff, fixing stuff, learning to drive better and modify things.

The poor old cruiser was pretty well dead after 18 months and it was moved on, It was replaced with a 1984 Hilux dual cab 2.4 diesel which took me to many places including my first trip to 

Cape York. That truck served me well for about 4 years. 

Then came the 1991 80 series Landcruiser 4.2 diesel, what an improvement over the 2.4. I kept that one for 12 years, taking it from stock to 6 inch lift, 35 inch tyres, turbo and fully engineered. Sadly someone stole it. 

Karen and I met and got together in 2002, Karen bought a 1999 Y61 (GU) Patrol turbo diesel, which became and remained our touring rig up until 2015. We also replaced the lost 80 with a 2007 Prado 120, we had that for about 4 years but moved it on in 2016 for a Ford Ranger Dual Cab, that we still have. In the same year we moved on the patrol and replaced it with the 200 series landcruiser we still have.

So now with 30 years experience in 4wding including getting accreditation in 4wd recovery, we continue to travel as much as we can.

Filming for Youtube started more regularly in 2018 and we have been producing mostly weekly clips ever since.
